Indoctrinate: to teach (someone) to fully accept the ideas, opinions, and beliefs of a particular group and to not consider other ideas, opinions, and beliefs.

This is a common attitude of the Left; you must accept MY ideas, but then they act like Screech Monkeys if you offer an opposing opinion or thought. This is the Problem of “State Run Education Camps” known today as “Public Schools”. This is not a condemnation of Teachers, but of the Education System as a program of one size fits all. Lazy teachers who desire to not have to teach to standards can fall back on “Teaching ideas of subjective values” in a liberal arts rather than a science style of education. This brings us to “Common Core” and the history of the use of education.

Common Core is about an obsession with race, class, gender, and sexuality as the forces of history and political identity. Nationalizing education via Common Core is about promoting an agenda of Anti-capitalism, sustainability, white guilt, global citizenship, self-esteem, affective math (not effective math), and culture sensitive spelling and language. This is done in the name of consciousness raising, moral relativity, fairness, diversity, and multiculturalism. This is based on the values and ideas of the founder of the NAACP.

“We are training not isolated men but a living group of men,—nay, a group within a group. And the final product of our training must be neither a psychologist nor a brickmason, but a man. And to make men, we must have ideals, broad, pure, and inspiring ends of living,—not sordid money-getting, not apples of gold. The worker must work for the glory of his handiwork, not simply for pay; the thinker must think for truth, not for fame. And all this is gained only by human strife and longing; by ceaseless training and education; by founding Right on righteousness and Truth on the unhampered search for Truth; by founding the common school on the university, and the industrial school on the common school; and weaving thus a system, not a distortion, and bringing a birth, not an abortion.”
― W.E.B. Du Bois – The Souls Of Black Folks

“The function of the university is not simply to teach breadwinning, or to furnish teachers for the public schools, or to be a centre of polite society; it is, above all, to be the organ of that fine adjustment between real life and the growing knowledge of life, an adjustment from which forms the secret of civilization.”
― W.E.B. Du Bois – The Souls of Black Folks

The real problem is they ignore the conservative side of education, Reading, writing, and arithmetic, the true common core of education. If I know how to read, I can learn to grow crops, fix a car or to weld a frame; experience will teach me to do it well. If I know how to do basic math; I can learn to balance a checkbook, work a spreadsheet or run a payroll. If I can write; I can teach what I learned through experience.

“The world cares little about what a man knows; it cares more about what a man is able to do.”
― Booker T. Washington

The elite left, especially Hollywood, looks down on the blue collar worker while being dependent on him for their food, clothing and comfort. All the while thinking that the next movie, book or painting they produce will save civilization as we know it.

“No race can prosper till it learns that there is as much dignity in tilling a field as in writing a poem.”
― Booker T. Washington

“I learned what education was expected to do for an individual. Before going there I had a good deal of the then rather prevalent idea among our people that to secure an education meant to have a good, easy time, free from all necessity for manual labor. At Hampton I not only learned that it was not a disgrace to labor, but learned to love labor, not alone for its financial value, but for labor’s own sake and for the independence and self-reliance which the ability to do something which the world wants done brings. At that institution I got my first taste of what it meant to live a life of unselfishness, my first knowledge of the fact that the happiest individuals are those who do the most to make others useful and happy.”
― Booker T. Washington

What is being taught in “Common Core” is Tolerance, not education.

Tolerance:
1. Willingness to accept feelings, habits, or beliefs that are different from your own
2. The ability to accept, experience, or survive something harmful or unpleasant

While the left is claiming definition 1 of tolerance for what they want, in reality it is definition 2 that they are forcing upon us and we are expected to survive something harmful to society.

“Among a large class, there seemed to be a dependence upon the government for every conceivable thing. The members of this class had little ambition to create a position for themselves, but wanted the federal officials to create one for them. How many times I wished then and have often wished since, that by some power of magic, I might remove the great bulk of these people into the country districts and plant them upon the soil – upon the solid and never deceptive foundation of Mother Nature, where all nations and races that have ever succeeded have gotten their start – a start that at first may be slow and toilsome, but one that nevertheless is real.”
― Booker T. Washington, Up from Slavery

God Bless.

Just my thoughts for today.

  • Hugh, Very good compilation of quotes. They are powerful.

  • I wanted grand kids several years ago, but all I got was puppies.  Today I'm thankful for those puppies.  Would hate to have grand children going to school today or deal with the realities of an Obamaworld.
