Death Wish: Rising Debt + Rising Rates

Death Wish: Rising Debt + Rising Rates

via NorthmanTrader

Have they all lost their collective minds? Look I get that some people are leaning Democrat versus Republican and vice versa and that’s fine, but what exactly are voters getting? If, on the one hand, you think Democrats tax and spend too much you get Republicans on the other hand who cut taxes with disproportional benefit to the top 1% and then spend even more. Fiscal conservatives? Please.

In early February the US government was already scheduled to borrow nearly $1 trillion this year.

Mark Levin pummels all Swamp creatures: ‘They’re spending like drunken Marxists’

Elected officials passed “the Swampiest of the Swamp budgets.”

Posted February 12, 2018 by Phil Shiver

On Monday night, LevinTV host Mark Levin refused to discuss the Obama portraits or the media slobbering over Kim Jong Un’s sister on his radio program, instead taking aim at the bigger issue of our day: the eye-popping government spending of taxpayer money.

Levin ripped elected officials for passing “the Swampiest of the Swamp budgets” before blasting them for their massive $1.5 trillion infrastructure plan and other key agenda items.

  • Rich, I keep an eye on West Virginia. Being a daughter of the state with family and friends still living there and my heart still lies in those WV hills I have watched Manchin over the years. His run in the midterms will not be a slam dunk win. He will have to work harder for a win for his district voted big league for our President. So he did not grow a spine it was all show meant for any WV viewer in his district question for WV voters is did his true colors change. I would say NO. Manchin should have in my opinion switched parties.

I heard or read yesterday that party leaders were taking their jack boots off candidates backs and allowing them to say whatever in their districts to get elected e.g. no strict party line talking points imposed.

Now isn't that just a kettle of fish? More requirement of the voter to do very serious research.

Manchin will not change his true colors he will spin-lie to get elected.

  • I just have questions about the land swaps and building of more and mor FBI locations that serves only to garner votes for those reps in whatever district they get built.

Now Quantico headquarters is situated on a 547 acre campus wouldn't you think that a new building would find some space available there. Another plus is that the campus is the FBI training center and seem to me the FBI needs a little retraining these days.

  • Yes there is a difference between a Republican and a committed Conservative. A conservative for most registered republican.

Since I have been more involved within the republicans here in my universe the stark differences between the two I have been privy to.

The GOP I have concluded most likely will support a more mainstream Republican. Where conservatives will support a true credentialed conservative having shown conservative values.

Trump obviously clear did not fall when he declared a run for President as a true Republican nor Conservative.

Many of the policies actions he has  accomplished while President have satisfied Republicans. His words around patriotism, religious freedom, political correctness, supporting our troops, the cops on the beat, border patrol and the like have had some satisfaction for the conservative.

Trump has been pulled more right of center.

I voted for Trump not just because he chose to run as a Republican but I viewed him as a disruptor to The District and the elite class of Republicans and big time disrupter to the DNC.

I have issues with DACA and the throwing out of the idea for a gas tax for sure -- so not always happy.

Trump is smart as a fox and quite frankly does rankle the feathers of a good deal of both the left and right. He certainly has an effect on many peoples personal and visceral sensibilities responses. While I like that about him many do not. Trump as a singular character has exposed the left at its worse and at the same time done more to flush out the true colors of RINO's. I like that.

I remain a committed Trump supporter while at the same time if I support or I am against some policy  I try and make my voice heard. Best I think we all can do -- and use the ballot box to support and show my personal support and unhappiness with my elected representatives up and down the ballot. Many considerations form my vote.

The crap around DACA I can see the ugly politics in all and it is very ugly. If Trump's 4 main identifiers are part of a DACA deal I would support -- if not a very unhappy camper.

    • The only reason we haven't already gotten a DACA deal is the Socialist Party, commonly known as Democrats, who surpass Butt-head and Beavis, even on steroids.

These Butt-heads initially asked for around 600,000 "Dreamers" to stay and Trump tripled the number, but "Sewer Rat" Schumer needed to hold the "Dreamers" (illegal aliens?) in limbo through his ignorance and contempt for Taxpayers.

This has been a display of how butt-headed the Democrat Party (aka Jackass Party) has become, with evidently all members cowering in fear of Schumer and "Wackosi".

This is a grand display of yellow-bellyed-ness by the Socialist Dems, but wait, they will come up with something even more obtuse.

      • Rich:"This has been a display of how butt-headed the Democrat Party (aka Jackass Party) has become, with evidently all members cowering in fear of Schumer and "Wackosi".

I don't get it.  Why the heck are democrat members afraid of Schumer and Wackosi?  "...members cowering in fear of Schumer and 'Wackosi'.  Don't they actually agree with them?

        • I think the fear congressional members hold is that their majority leaders and their whips hold over them. They have power over assignments to committees and the biggy of handing out monies through the senate or house congressional committees campaign funds. Not to leave out the jackets they hold which contains juicy info that they can use to disparage a member. Even if a member who has a good and reasonable piece of legislation advancing the bill depends on towing the line.

          It is an ugly thing.

Some members like Cruz, Paul, Gosar, Lee, Amash and others enjoy great support from their districts and a majority leader is somewhat powerless to sweep them from the chamber so they just continue to disparage them as best they can.

          • Spot On!

The Dems rule their fellow elected parasites with an iron hand as they always vote in lock-step on all the issues, no matter how butt-headed it is.

The nearest thing I've seen to any Dem breaching rules was when Senator Manchin (WV) stood up and clapped (once), but quickly took his seat when he looked around and saw all of his fellow parasites acting and looking like gargoyles, at Trump's State of the Union address.

Dems evidently have some genetic defect or, in order to get elected, a bright yellow streak up their back.   :)

"Dems evidently have some genetic defect or, in order to get elected, a bright yellow streak up their back.   :)"

Parasites and bright yellow streak...  I don't think Schumer and 'Wackosi' are without a genetic defect and bright yellow streak themselves.  There must be someone or some organization pulling their strings.  I suspect the real leaders of the democrat party is 'outside' the walls of the party.  And I don't mean their constituents.  Maybe I watch too many conspiracy movies, but since the assassination of JFK, and I remember exactly where I was when I heard about it, the democrat party began a transformation.  JFK would have been the first president I could vote for.  I was a staunch democrat up until Bill Clinton won the democrat primary.  What the democrat party had become hit me like a sack of bricks.  I became a republican.

Senator Manchin probably is the most "centered" Democrat and even he quickly took a seat and joined the gargoyle ranks.

As for Schumer and "Wackosi", I agree with your assumption that someone is pulling their strings, but, sh_t always flows downhill.  My guess is Satan on Earth, Soros, as he has the money, has the experience destabilizing nations and sucking their economies dry in the process, for instance, Serbia, Myanmar, Ukraine and several others.

              • Michael, Glad you switched to the "right side'. I was reared in a family of Dixiecrats. I have at times registered as an independent but always voted for Republicans. I learned growing up that the dems did not have the coal miners back. The Dixiecrat I felt were more to the center. I did not like JFK and I too remember vividly where I was on that fateful day.

I have learned over the past couple of decades many disappointments with the GOP. I vowed to myself to work where I can to affect the GOP behaviors within my registered party. Quite a commitment and yet another swamp to drain.

The democrat party however is in my thinking a present danger to this republic, So I keep plugging along.
